Tater Tot

Tater Tot’s Story

Tater Tot was a tiny 5-pound Chihuahua with a huge heart. Found as a stray in Georgia, she came to our rescue looking for safety—and quickly found love, comfort, and a forever place in our hearts.

She was diagnosed with kidney failure early on, but Tot never lived like a dog with limited time. Instead, she thrived. She became a hospice dog and spent two beautiful years soaking up every moment of life.

Tot was a lucky girl with two wonderful foster moms, and one of her favorite places in the world was sitting with Carolyn on the couch, snuggled in and perfectly content. She had her own spark of personality too—what we lovingly called her “Tot-a-tude.”

She went camping, enjoyed sunshine, and strutted around with her signature “hot to trot Tot” walk, a sassy little strut that showed just how loved she felt.

Tater Tot may have been tiny, but the imprint she left is enormous. Sweet, brave, full of spirit—she lived her final years wrapped in love. She will be forever remembered and forever loved
