Hello everyone! My name is Bindi. I am about 9 years old and am a white and tan female Chihuahua mix and weigh about 10 pounds. I have been slimming down some since I was a bit heavy when I came to rescue. I have adjusted at my foster parents’ house and I think it’s great. There are other dogs and toys here I’m starting to play with. I have not been around children or cats so I don’t know how I will act around them. My foster parents smile and laugh when I roll over on my back and wiggle back and forth, they say I’m breakdancing. I don’t know what that is but I like doing it sometimes. I am really friendly and like getting on laps so I can get some pets or take naps. I’ve been having some trouble jumping onto laps but I’m getting better at it, maybe losing a bit more weight and practice will help. I have been working on my house training and using pee pads but I have had a few accidents. My foster parents have a fenced back yard where I’ll do my business too. I hardly ever bark and if I do it’s usually at the neighbor dog that I can’t see through the fence. I mind well when I’m told not to do that and when I’m told to come back inside. I do really great on a leash but haven’t had much of a chance to get out since it has been cold and raining so much. At night I have been sleeping in my crate but I would prefer to sleep on the bed.
I had six teeth removed for my dental but I still eat the dry kibble all my dog friends here eat. During a visit to the doctor to see how I was doing they found out I have a heart murmur and a slightly enlarged heart. I am taking medicine for that and will need to continue taking my meds for the rest of my life. I take them in a treat, so I like that, yummy. I do not have any heart symptoms and hopefully the medication will keep some of the stress off my heart and I will have many more years ahead of me! I’m hoping that I can find a forever home where I get as much love as I give.
I have been spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm/flea prevention. My adoption fee is $100.
