Cheeto

They call me Cheeto and I have to say I loved my new name the minute I heard it! I’m a male Chihuahua
that weighs a whopping 4.8 pounds, my coat once it grows back in is a pretty reddish color. No one is sure how old
I am, some say I’m younger than my frosty face looks, the best guess is that I’m probably about 5 to 7 years old.
Someone once upon a time loved me because I’m a very nice little man and I love to snuggle with my foster mom. But
I don’t know what happened because one day I found myself being tossed over a fence into an old car lot. I was so
sad, cold and just crawling with fleas. A good hearted soul found me and saved my life! She brought me home and
bathed me to help rid me of my fleas. I lost a lot of hair because of those danged fleas. She had to give me 4
baths to get me clean! Then she contacted Small Breed Rescue and they found a little spot for me at a wonderful
place they call a foster home. My foster mom takes such good care of me. She keeps me warm, gives me good food,
and took me to the vet where they gave me a clean bill of health!

There are other little dogs here too and I love hanging out with them! We go outside and sniff around in the fenced
dog yard then we go back inside the house and play with toys or sleep on the sofa under the blankets! At night I
sleep in my own crate in my foster mom’s bedroom. I’m a good boy and sleep all through the night without a peep.
Since I was recently neutered I’ve been wearing a belly band in the house so I can learn not to mark in the house.
A belly band is a strip of fabric that is wrapped around my waist that covers my private part so I can’t have an
accident. So I need someone who will continue working with me so I can learn good house manners. I do go outside
to potty and love to wander around and do my business so I have a pretty good idea of what is expected of me, I
just need more practice. I get worried when I’m left alone and get super excited when my foster mom comes home
and I love to bark and give her heck for leaving! So if you have sensitive neighbors I might not be their favorite!

I had a dental when I was neutered and I lost a lot of teeth! Seventeen in all! I only have 10 teeth and they are
all on the bottom. I’m on a soft diet for a week or so while my mouth heals after my extractions and then I can go
back to my kibble. I prefer kibble to soft food – funny I know but that’s the way I am! I’m up to date with my
vaccinations, on heartworm prevention and I’m heartworm negative. I also have a microchip.

So what I’m looking for in a forever home is no kids under the age of 12 since I’m a little guy. I want a warm soft
bed to lay my little head to sleep, good food is a must and when it’s cold a sweater would be wonderful, I never want
to be cold again! And an absolute must is I want someone who promises to love me forever and I promise I will do
the same! My adoption fee is $175.
