Hi! My name is Cookie and I’m an adorable 7-month-old, 5 pound female Chihuahua mix. My former owner gave me to a shelter as they were no longer able to care for me and now I’m looking for my forever home. My foster mom says I am super-sweet!
My favorite place to be is napping on your lap. Really, it’s the best. I am crate trained but I cry a little when my foster mom goes out during the day; I think I would be happiest if you were home with me most of the time so I can marathon lap-nap and get cuddles as much as possible.
I like other friendly dogs, but am a litte protective of my spot on my foster mom’s lap. A girl’s gotta have her priorities! I live with some big dogs right now and we are pretty good friends as long as they don’t frighten me – but when I’m scared I growl just a bit to let them know I’m frightened.
It took me some time to warm up to my foster dad, but we get along now that I’ve gotten more comfortable in my foster home. I’m still learning to walk on a leash, and sometimes I stop walking because I get nervous, so I’ll need encouragement to keep going. I get to go outside about every three or four hours and I know to do my business there, but I’m also pretty good about using a training pad if I don’t get to go outside soon enough.
I love getting attention but I’m not pushy about it. I like going outdoors almost as much as I like laps and I wouldn’t mind another dog to play with if they’re really friendly and sweet. I would love to find my forever home with you if you’re willing to share your lap with me! My adoption fee is $175.
