- Regular Grooming
- Someone who will give me my medication for Cushing’s disease
- Adult home or one with calm children over 8
Hello, my name is Cuddles. But you can call me anything you want, as long as you say it loudly…my hearing isn’t what it once was. I am a pretty little black female Shih Tzu/Poodle mix with adorable curls. I am 13 years old and weigh a little over 14 pounds.
I am a very low-key pup who enjoys relaxing with my people and other small dogs. I like to nap in a sunbeam, and I enjoy following you wherever you might go. I like to ride in the car, especially if I can sit in someone’s lap for the trip. I will walk on a leash with you if you are not in a big hurry and don’t intend to roam far. I’d love to hang out right beside you in the kitchen while you cook. I hope you are surefooted!
Being thirteen, I act a bit like a little old lady. I’m a tad hard of hearing, or maybe I just hear what I want to hear. I don’t move quite as fast as the other doggies in my foster home. But, hey, you won’t have to deal with puppy issues! I am potty trained. I do not jump up on furniture or people. I would never tear up anything of yours. If you want to invite your friends over, I will be happy to meet them. Truly, I’ve never met a stranger.
I’ve been living in foster care for about a month with two other small dogs whom I get along with beautifully. But I would be just as happy to be your one and only.
I was recently diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease, which is not terribly rare in small dogs my age. You can read all about that on Google. Mainly, it means I feel thirsty a lot, and I have to take my medicine twice a day. And that doesn’t bother me at all. Foster mom just squirts it onto my food, and I gobble it right up. You should be aware that being extra thirsty means that I need to be let out often to do my business.
You would be expected to keep me on my meds and keep me neatly groomed. You know how us little old ladies are about keeping up appearances.
No one is perfect, and my major flaw is that I hate the crate. I will sing you the song of my people until I am set free. Rather than put me in a crate, just put a cozy little bed down on the floor for me and I will spend most of my time there.
If you want a wild energetic dog, you should look elsewhere, but if you want a calm, mannerly companion, then I am your dog. I need a nice quiet family to love and be loved by.
I have been spayed and microchipped. I am up to date on all my vaccinations, flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. I will have to return to the vet periodically to make sure my Cushing’s medication is calibrated correctly for me. My adoption fee is $100.
