Dash needs:
- Adult home or one with children over 12
- Someone home during the day for potty breaks
- No long flights of stairs
- Can be an only dog or with another quiet senior
Welcome to handsome, sweet Dash! Dash is a mixed breed with maybe a bit of Beagle in there and is about 19 pounds and is a senior probably about 12 years old.
Dash needs a very very special someone to spend the rest of his days with. Dash is deaf and partially sighted and his back legs are weak and wobbly so he needs a caring and supportive person to take care of his needs. Dash does still get around but would not be good in a home with a lot of steps. He has a wonky walk but shhh! don’t tell him! Like many senior dogs, Dash has a heart murmur but this doesn’t bother him and does not currently require any medication. That is something that will be monitored by your vet during his exams. He has a couple little fatty lumps but nothing of concern.
Dash loves to wander around a fenced yard and take short walks on a leash, but struggles with steps and is unable to climb a staircase. Dash knows he needs to potty outside but sometimes doesn’t quite get there in time so he will need someone home so that he can be taken outside regularly to avoid accidents in the house.
Cuddly as a teddy bear Dash will happily sit on your lap on a sofa or chair but be aware he will need to be lifted on and off furniture. He sleeps in his own comfy warm bed with a pee pad close in case he needs it. Dash would be ok as an only dog or fine with some gentle quiet dogs in an adult home or one with children over 12. He is also happy to sit in a dog carrier or stroller if longer walks are necessary and he travels well in the car.
We are looking for someone who can give Dash the time and support he needs with love and patience as he deserves it. If you feel you are that special person please apply today! Dash is up to date on all vaccines and treatments, has had a dental cleaning, and is neutered and microchipped and had a blood panel. Dash’s adoption fee is $100.
