Hello, my name is Ford. I am a beautiful, approximately 3-year old, 6.5-pound male Chihuahua with the
softest fur ever. I found myself at a local shelter along with many other dogs that were in a home where none of us were receiving
the care we needed. SBRET took me in along with two other Chihuahuas as all three of us needed extra care.
I was actually heartworm-positive and required treatment for that easily preventable condition. I have now undergone treatment
for heartworms and am doing quite well. I do not have any other health issues that we are aware of.
I have been very good with my housetraining as long as you take me outside on a regular basis but I will use a potty pad if needed.
I have to warn you – I am a cuddle bug! I love to cuddle with my foster mom and dad, and love to be held (almost by anyone).
I am a very social little guy. I would also love to be in the big bed with you, but I would need stairs to get up and down.
I will sleep through the night quiet as a mouse and not have to go out until morning. I do not do well in a crate or expen,
and I can actually jump out of the expen. Hey, I just want to be with my people and fur buddies! I do well on a leash and
love the fenced yard to do my business. I ride well in a car in my car seat too.
My favorite thing to do is chew on my bully sticks, but I do not chew on things I shouldn’t. My foster mom also
gives me apple treats – I like it when she gives me small pieces at a time. There are 3 other small dogs in
my foster home and I don’t have a problem with them at all. I mind my own business but will crawl up in the bed
with the other small dogs with no problem. I do get very excited when my foster mom comes back in the house after
being gone and I try to jump up so she can pick me up, but I am working on being more polite.
Everyone who meets me thinks I am the cutest little man ever – I mean just look at my face without smiling if you can. I am neutered,
microchipped, and up to date on my vaccinations, heartworm and flea prevention. My adoption fee is $175.
