Gizzy needs:
- An active adult home who is sure footed as I can get under foot!
- Children over 8
- Someone home during the day
- A young, playful dog buddy
My name is Gizzy. I am a 9-month-old, 10-pound, female Shih Tzu puppy. I came to SBRET as an owner surrender. My foster mom thinks that I am adorable, and that I have
the cutest prance when I walk. I am a sweet girl who made herself right at home with my foster family.
I get along well with other small dogs and would love to have a home with a buddy to play with. Having plenty of toys to play with is also a must, especially chew toys as I am still a puppy. I have gotten good at emptying the toy basket in my foster home and scattering the toys everywhere! My foster mom wishes that she could now teach me
how to pick them up! Of note is that I have a tendency to not like to share the toys, and we have been working on that. I am also friendly with people, although I can be shy with someone new and need time to get to know them. I have not been around cats, so don’t know how I would react to them.
I like to go on walks to expend some energy, and have been doing well on a leash and harness. You do need to keep an eye on me, because I like to pick up sticks and other objects on our walks. My foster mom has been trying to teach me “drop it” and I listen most of the time. In the evenings, I like to cuddle beside my foster mom or dad on the couch
and chill out.
We have been working on my housetraining and it has been going well. My foster mom takes me out on a regular basis and this keeps me from having accidents in the house. I sleep quietly in my crate at night near my foster parents’ bed. When they get up in the morning though, I will let them know that it’s time to let me out. I’m not usually
overly vocal, but will bark at people and dogs when I go for walks or when someone is at the door.
It will be best for my forever home to have a small, young buddy for me to play with and for company if you are away. I need for someone to be at home part of the day to let me out to potty more often since I am still a puppy. Also, children in the household should be 8 years or older. I am up to date on my vaccines and on heartworm and flea prevention. I am spayed and
microchipped. My adoption fee is $175.
