Josie

Hello everyone, my name is Josie. I’m a cute little tan-and-white female Chihuahua, 6 to 8 years old. I’m 6 pounds now after I slimmed down some. I am staying at my foster parents for a little bit until I find myself a forever home. I came to SBRET as an owner surrender after I was hit by a car and have had a bit of a rough life. When I was getting taken care of for my accident, we found out that I have some other issues but the doctor says I’m ok. I just need to be watched for signs that I might need some extra care in the future. The vet says I have an enlarged heart but it is not causing any problems right now. I also have a gallstone but that is not causing any issues either and the vet does not recommend doing anything about it as long as it is causing no trouble. I can have a normal dog life with some loving care. While I have been recuperating I have made friends here with the other furry dogs at my foster home and get along great with them. I am a little shy with people, but I like everyone I meet. I’m starting to play a little with toys as I get more comfortable with everything, but this little boy dog keeps taking them from me. I have been doing great with my house training. I take care of my business outside in the yard but will use a pee pad if I need to go inside like when it is raining – I don’t like to go outside in the rain. I do like going outside and scampering around in the fenced backyard. I like getting loved on and giving love and kisses back. I sleep in my crate at night in a soft bed with a blanket beside my foster parents’ bed. I would love to have a forever home to share my love with everyone there. So, don’t miss your chance to adopt me, I’m going to find a forever home soon. I have been spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm/flea prevention. My adoption fee is $175.
