Hi, Sir Lancelot here — but my friends call me Lance and my foster mom calls me Lancey Fancy Pants because my coat is so handsome!
I am a 5-year old, male Shih Tzu mix and weigh about 17 pounds. When i arrived at SBRET a few weeks ago, I was really shut down–in my shell.
I had been on my own for a while and as a result, I had lots of fleas which gave me very itchy skin and itchy ears. I was just generally uncomfortable and grouchy.
My sweet vet said I also have a dry eye condition that will require life long drops. Fast forward a few weeks and I am doing MUCH better!
I no longer growl at my foster brothers and sisters when they come close — I even share my bed with one! My fur is coming in very nicely with medicated baths plus no more pesky fleas.
I have started requesting for loving and attention more and more. I now know how nice a couch is!
My housetraining is coming along quite well. My foster mom has to carry me down the steps to the yard. With a little encouragement, I will do my business then I happily go
back up the steps myself to the cool, comfortable house! I will do best in an adult home since I have not been around children, and it may take me a bit to settle in with new dogs.
It would be great to have a fenced yard and someone home at least part of the day to help me continue to blossom!
I am neutered, up to date on my shots, on monthly flea and heartworm prevention and will be having a dental soon.
