Nigel

Hello, my name is Nigel!

Don’t you think I am the cutest little Yorkie man you have ever seen!!!! I am a 4-pound, 6-year-old male Yorkie. I came to rescue with very matted hair, a little under weight and not up to date on any of my needs. I was afraid and didn’t understand about going outside to potty. I am a very happy little guy who will sleep right next to you all night and follow you around all day! I will also sleep quietly in a crate. I play with toys and love the squeaky ones especially. I am active and I will get under foot. I would not be a good match for someone who would have trouble with me under foot. I absolutely love to snuggle and I get along with big and small dogs, but I would not be a good match for a young playful big dog because I am so very small. My foster mom does not have a kitty, so I’m not sure how I would react to one.

I know someone will be so excited to meet me and see what a sweet, happy little dog I am. I love snuggling on the sofa and watching TV in the evenings. In my foster home I am trying to get the hang of going outside to potty, but I do wear a little belly band when wandering around the house but I’m working very hard at not needing one soon! I will need someone who is willing to work with me and continue developing my house training skills. I am also learning to walk on a leash and harness and my foster mom tells me I am doing very well with that. Because of all my matted hair my coat has been shaved so right now I need a jacket or sweater when I go outside in the cold. I still have many of my teeth after my dental and I happily eat dry kibble with a touch of wet mixed into it. When I go potty outside on leash my foster mom tells me what a good boy I am and that really makes me very happy! I am definitely motivated by praise. I am a little vocal, especially when my foster mom leaves for work. I wag my little tail and bark in excitement as soon as she gets home.

My forever home would be with someone who is home during the day who can continue my leash and house training, so that I get this down pat! I do have a little room for improvement now, but my foster mom tells me I am getting better with each day! I am very small and would not be suited for a home with children or rambunctious larger dogs. Please remember I am a little vocal and I will get under foot. You would need to always watch for me because I would be seriously hurt if stepped or fallen on. I am looking so forward to my new furever home and meeting my new family!!! I have so much love to give and would always be your best friend!

I am neutered, have had my dental, have my microchip and am current on all my vaccinations, heartworm and flea preventatives.

If you are looking for a happy little gentleman to share your life with, I am your guy!

Licks and Love,

Nigel
