Pico (now Chico)

Chico (formerly Pico) with his new family

Pico is a perfect example of how donations, fostering, and partner vets can come together and give a dog in need a second chance. Pico has found his forever home and will live a charmed life with former SBRET adopters who recently lost a dog to cancer and wanted to give another rescue a new life.

None of this would have been possible for little Pico without SBRET’s intervention…he suffered a horrible leg injury from a dog fight and could have lost his leg or endured a lifetime of pain with an untreated wound if he had not gotten proper medical care. Dr. Will from Anderson County Animal Hospital gave Pico a chance to keep a normal leg, his foster mom Carolyn took care of him as he recovered from surgery, and his adopters… Jeanie and Jim…gave him a super home and commitment to his rehab. Pico (now Chico) has a new best bud Jack and furry sister Meg (also an SBRET alumna). What a miracle!
