Oh my gosh this is a whole bunch of adorableness packed into one tiny little pup.
Meet Rio, an 11-week-old, 5-lb female Chihuahua mix.
Rio is a somewhat shy, but friendly, happy little girl. She loves everyone she meets and is great with the other dogs in the house. I guess I should have named her Nibbler, because I have to tell you right up front she is obsessed with nibbling my toes! Her very, very favorite toy, out of all the other dozens of toys on the floor, are my toes! Makes her so darn mad when I put shoes on, but those puppy teeth are sharp!😆 So when I put my toes away and she has nothing better to do, she loves to climb up in my lap and give me kisses and snuggles.
She’s doing well with her potty training and will go potty outside when you take her but she is a puppy and still has accidents in the house! That is just a puppy thing, and you will have to keep up with her training. She’s very smart and I don’t think it will take much longer for her to be fully potty trained, but that’s up to you 🙂
She loves her dry kibble, and is so good about sleeping quietly all night in the playpen with her siblings. She would be fine as an only dog as she loves people, but she would also do great with another small playmate because she has a lot of puppy energy and plays so well with the other dogs here. Cat? What’s a cat?
As with every puppy, it would be a very good idea to take her to some basic obedience classes. Learning commands like sit, stop, and come could save her from running into a dangerous situation. It’s so important, and a great bonding experience for you and your puppy!
