Shannon with Rocky and Sassy

This is Shannon with Rocky and Sassy. We knew when we read Shannon’s application she had personality. But when we met her we knew she had HEART! You see, although Sassy is an exceptionally beautiful Chihuahua (although we have to admit she has a slight resemblance to a mouse with her pink nose and long whiskers) with a GREAT personality, she has some health issues which scared most people away from adopting her. Not only did she have cancer (which has hopefully all been removed), but she also has a heart murmur, which may require medication later on in life. So, we knew it would take that special someone with a lot of love and an extra big heart to take a chance on our little Sassy! Well, that special someone is Shannon (and Freddy – not shown in this picture). When we told Shannon more about Sassy’s heart murmur it didn’t scare her away from Sassy at all. All she said, which you have to love, is “bless her murmury little heart.” We told you Shannon had personality plus!

Anyway, when we took Sassy to Shannon’s house, she acted like she had lived there all her life, showing off, running around on the back of the couch, and greeting Rocky (her new brother), who was a bit taken back at having another dog enter his home! We’re happy to report that just after a week, having Sassy around has brought Rocky out of his shell and they actually play together now! It was truly meant to be. Thank you, Shannon and Freddy, for opening your hearts and your home to our special little girl!
