Hi, my name is Shadow. I am a 2-year-old male Shih Tzu mix weighing in at 8 pounds. I am a very sweet, energetic, and playful dog and I enjoy playing with my toys, playing fetch, and playing with my other dog friends.
I had a rough start in life but I am doing so good now. When I first arrived at my foster house I refused to even go outside. When I was placed in the grass, I would just freeze and not move until I was picked up. I now enjoy the outside and even do my “business” there. Although I am doing well with my potty training, I do have a tough time holding it the whole day while my foster mom is at work so someone who has flexible daytime hours to help me with that, would be great. I am also working on walking on a leash and I am doing much better with that too.
When my foster mom is at work, I stay in a gated area with my other furry friends. I do sleep through the night in my foster mom’s bed cuddled up right next to her.
I need an adult home or one with children over 12 years old. I am shy when I first meet new people and go into new situations so I will need a week or two for my true personality to start to come out. My forever family will need to agree to be patient with me and give me time. I promise I’m worth it! I also need a sweet dog buddy. I am looking for a family who will love me, play with me, and give me the attention I deserve. I am neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all my vaccines, and on flea and heartworm prevention.
