Adoption Area: East Tennessee
Tilly needs:
- Active adult home or one with children over 8 years old
- Someone home part of the day
- A small dog buddy
Hi, I’m Tilly. I am an 8-pound female Terrier mix who was rescued from the shelter by SBRET. The vet has estimated my age to be between 2-3 years old. As you can see by my picture, I am full of cuteness and I’m sassy to boot! I adjusted quickly to my foster home and get along well with my foster fur sisters. If possible, I
would like a small fur buddy in my new home to keep me company if you need to be gone and to play with. A home with lots of squeaky toys would be great, also.
When my foster mom returns home from running errands, I always greet her at the door with my favorite toy in my mouth, then run behind her squeaking it!
When you are home, I like to be near you and love cuddling on the couch. My favorite place to sit is on the back of the couch right behind you.
I am mostly housetrained, but have had a couple of accidents. Someone from my new family will need to be home part of the day to take me out on a regular
basis to continue my housetraining. I am a good eater and am food and treat motivated, but not food aggressive. I do well on a leash and love to go for walks.
I sleep quietly all night in a wire kennel beside my foster parent’s bed. I rarely bark, usually only when meeting another dog or person when out on walks. I ride well in the car, but have a tendency to shake, as I am afraid that we are going back to the vet! In the time that I have been in foster care, my foster parents
have discovered that I am frightened of loud noises, particularly thunder and fireworks. When either of these occur, I freak out and run and hide. To avoid the panicked searches through the house trying to find me, I do best if I am in my partially covered kennel, where I feel safe.
It would be best for me to be in an active household, with children over 8 years old and someone home part of the day. I received a good checkup at the vet with no health issues. I am up to date on my vaccines and am microchipped. I am on flea and heartworm prevention. My spay appointment is on July 19th and then I will be ready for my forever home. My adoption fee is $175.
