Tina

Hey All! My name is Tina and I’m a 6-7 year old – wait for it – Chihuahua! I came into rescue pregnant and had 2 fine puppies who have found their forever homes. I’ve been recovering from their delivery and trying to get my girlish figure back but am ready for my home now! Because of a tattoo in my ear we think I spent some time in a commercial puppy mill but that’s all over and I’m ready for a life of love, love, love! I can be very timid but my foster mom is working on showing me how much fun I can have.

I weigh about 11.5 pounds but should lose 2-3 more. I’ve never walked on a leash before so I’m “in training” as my foster mom says. We’ve made progress but I still am very hesitant about taking walks. I love to run and play so a fenced in yard would be best for me. My foster family has another dog and a cat (sometimes I’ll chase the cat, but it’s all in fun) and I’ve done well around small children too.

I lost a few teeth when I had my dental and I feel so much better now that my mouth is not sore from having rotting teeth there. Some of my other teeth are ground down, no one knows why, but we suspect from chewing on a wire cage. But I can still eat my kibble and any treats you have! I love treats!

I love to be petted especially on my belly! And if you are sitting anywhere I will magically appear on your lap to be loved on. I potty outside if taken out on a regular basis but will use a pee pad inside if needed. I’ve had a few accidents but my foster mom thinks it’s because I smell where other dogs have had accidents and think it’ll be okay to go where they have.

I’m up to date on my shots, flea and heartworm prevention. I am spayed and microchipped and ready for the right family to adopt me! I hope you’ll consider me when you look for a new family member! My adoption fee is $175.

Hi! I’m Tina, a beautiful 6 year old, 10 pound female Chihuahua that is looking for a home to call her own. I was brought into Rescue pregnant and very overweight. My two puppies have been adopted and now it’s my turn!

In case you noticed the tattoo in my ear, it is more than likely I spent some time in a commercial puppy mill. That is probably why when I had a dental, I lost a few front teeth. Sometimes my tongue sticks out a smidgen. My foster mom says it doesn’t matter, I am beautiful anyway.

She says my personality is “the sweetest”. I love to be petted and have my belly rubbed. I’ll jump on the sofa and sit next to you if you would like that! When strangers come over, my foster mom gives me “one minute” to bark and then I have to be quiet. I always listen to my mom:) I love my mom. My foster Dad is pretty cool but I love my mom the best. So, I think my main caregiver probably should be a lady.

I get along fine with my foster dog brother. At night, I sleep quietly in my crate and during the day, when mom goes to the store, I stay in the kitchen without any fuss. I can even ride in the car like a good girl. Best of all, I’m doing a great job going outside to potty. Mom gave me an A+ for that!

Sometimes, I get “the zooms”. I zoom around the room running for the fun of it. It makes my Mom and Dad laugh out loud. I like that….I like when people smile at me. Maybe I have happy feet who knows! I do have a heart murmur that will need to continue to be monitored but I have no symptoms associated with that and heart murmurs are very common in small dogs.

Like Humans, my extra weight is very unhealthy, not only for my heart and all organs but my joints as well. Luckily, when I had my physical I had not suffered any medical consequences yet. So, I am now on a special diet food and am exercising by walking everyday. I get very excited when my harness and leash come out. My new home must be as committed as SBRET is to helping me lose the weight.

If you are interested in a beautiful, happy, affectionate companion, then give SBRET a call and ask for TINA. My adoption fee is $175.
