Hi! My name is Wylie. I am a 2-year-old 16-pound male Terrier mix. I came to SBRET in January when my family was no longer able to care for me. The nice people at SBRET treated me for my heartworm disease and now I am a happy, silly, heartworm-free boy!
I am a pretty shy guy at first and may try to hide when you meet me but once I am comfortable, I will be your best friend. I am not an overly excited pup but I do love to play with other mature dogs, go for short walks to sniff, and then snuggle with you afterwards. I would love to sleep on the pillow next to you at night or in my kennel.
I am completely potty-trained, kennel-trained but have a little separation anxiety so I may bark or howl for a minute after you leave, i am getting better so please continue to work with me on that, I love to learn and grow. My heartworm treatment was on February 4th so I will need to live a very calm, sedentary lifestyle until the first week of April. I am a Terrier so I will alert at the slightest noise, so I am not ideal for an apartment. I walk great on a leash or love to play in a fenced yard. I also do great in the car and will lie down and watch you while you drive. My foster mom has been working with me on my grooming manners and I am doing great, I will be calm while you dremmel my nails, brush my coat, trim my feet and brush my teeth. I might be a little fearful if you take me to a stranger for these things so please plan to work with a quiet and patient grooming facility if I need to go.
I am neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines and heartworm/flea prevention. My adoption fee is $175.
